Two Men Accused with Inmate Homicide of Lostprophets Singer Ian Watkins

A pair of suspects stand accused of murder following the incarceration fatality of ex-Lostprophets frontman and found guilty of child sex crimes Ian Watkins.

The two men, Rashid Gedel (25) and Samuel Dodsworth (43) now face murder accusations and will appear before Leeds magistrates’ court on Monday morning, per investigating officers.

Watkins, 48 years old, was undergoing a 29-year incarceration at HMP Wakefield, with a further six years to be served on licence, after pleading guilty to multiple sexual crimes among them the attempted rape of a baby.

Watkins was apprehended subsequent to a narcotics search warrant at his Pontypridd home on 21 September 2012, when a substantial collection of electronic devices including computers, phones and drives were taken as evidence.
